Justin Johnson
Hello! I’m Justin Johnson, but feel free to call me “JJ.” I’m currently an intern at RockyMountain Relationship and Family Therapy. While I’m still in my internship, I bring valuable experience from my time working with individuals, couples, and families during my master's program at Regis University. I’m truly excited about the opportunity to work with new clients in a private practice setting.
As a therapist, my goal is to create a warm and engaging environment, using humor as a tool to help me understand who you are and who you aspire to be. I believe that effective therapy means empowering you to achieve your goals, ultimately working myself out of a job in the process
You might be curious about the distinction between a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). MFT programs emphasize viewing individuals within the context of their relationships and systems. Even in one-on-one sessions, we’ll explore various aspects of your life, including your family background, romantic relationships, and work-life balance, among others. As MFTs, we focus on understanding your unique “system,” and once we have that insight, we can implement tailored approaches that best serve your needs.
I recognize that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Each person has unique experiences, needs, and preferences. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your specific circumstances and goals.
